IndiGo Airlines, India’s premier low-cost carrier, has revealed the interior design of its brand new business class aircraft, the Indigo Stretch. Indigo announced this new business offering in August as part of their 18th anniversary festivities. Passengers can now buy business class seats on flights linking key metro cities such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Hyderabad. IndiGo’s new offering joins Tata Group-owned Air India, Air India Express, and Vistara as the principal airlines currently offering business-class services in India.
IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers had previously emphasised the airline’s commitment to expanding travel alternatives while keeping its reputation for affordability. This move signals a significant evolution for IndiGo, which has long been noted for its straightforward approach to air travel.
The airline debuted its business class service on the Delhi-Mumbai route at an introductory fare of Rs 18,018; bookings began in August. Indigo Stretch aims to complete all 12 routes by the end of next year. This staged strategy intends to gradually expose more travelers to the better business-class experience.

IndiGo Stretch promises a better travel experience with coupe-style seating placed in a large two-seat wide arrangement. Each seat has a generous pitch of 38 inches and a breadth of 21.3 inches, providing plenty of room to recline.

The IndiGo Stretch cabin will have 12 seats configured in a pleasant 2-2 arrangement. Meanwhile, the conventional 6E cabin will remain unchanged, with 208 seats, including XL seating options in the aircraft’s middle portion.
By 2027, the airline is expected to begin operating Airbus A350-900 planes, aimed at enticing travelers wanting greater comfort on internal routes. IndiGo currently serves over 400 routes, including 34 international destinations, and is ready to extend its worldwide presence even further. The CEO also announced intentions to start seven more international flights soon, expanding the airline’s global footprint.

IndiGoStretch will create a desired option for many who are aiming to travel business, some of them seasoned and some perhaps for the first time in their life. It is an exciting time for Indian aviation and for IndiGo. By early January, all customers flying between Delhi and Mumbai will be on an IndiGoStretch aircraft and by March 2025, we would cover all flights from Delhi to Bengaluru and Chennai. In the next 14 months, 45 IndiGoStretch planes will be inducted in our fleet and we will ramp up to serve 12 routes with 268 daily flights.”
